This past Sunday, October 20, MHAS' staff, Board of Directors, and over 150 supporters gathered at The New Center for Psychoanalysis for our 2019 Annual Celebration. Our attendees had the opportunity to learn how MHAS works every day to protect and advance the rights of people with mental health disabilities in L.A. County.
This year, MHAS presented the Jim Preis Memorial Award to Meiram Bendat, Founder and President of Psych-Appeal, and the Advocates Award to Mia St. John, Founder of the El Poder Es Saber Foundation. MHAS is proud to honor their achievements and contributions to the field of mental health advocacy.
