MacKenzie, a Bay Area native, received her JD from Boston College Law School, where she received awards for her pro bono service and participation on the Jessup International Moot Court team. She is a proud graduate of UCLA (go Bruins!), where she studied Political Science and English. She has worked with Bet Tzedek's Employment Rights Project and Public Counsel's Center for Veterans Advancement.
During her time at MHAS, MacKenzie has been a part of the DHS Countywide Benefits Entitlement Services Team and the Medical-Legal Community Partnership. She is currently the lead attorney on Project New Start (in collaboration with the mental health support center Painted Brain) which combats legal barriers to employment faced by formerly incarcerated individuals with mental health disabilities. She lives in the South Bay with her human and animal family.
